How DarDoc protects sample quality from collection to laboratory

Sample quality depends on correct identification, collection, labelling, transport, and accredited processing.

Accurate testing begins before the analyser. Preparation, patient identification, tube selection, collection technique, labelling, temperature, timing, transport, and laboratory controls all contribute to the final result.

Correct patient and test verification

The collector confirms the patient identity and requested tests. This reduces the risk of a result being associated with the wrong person or the wrong panel.

Correct collection materials

Different tests require specific tubes, additives, containers, and volumes. The collector follows the requirements for the laboratory receiving the sample.

Labelling and traceability

Samples are labelled so they can be tracked through transport and processing. Do not remove or alter labels.

Transport and handling

Some samples require controlled temperature, protection from light, prompt separation, or delivery within a defined period. The collection and logistics process must follow those requirements.

Accredited laboratory partners

DarDoc states that its samples are processed through accredited laboratory partners, including CAP-accredited laboratories in the live service description.

What if a sample cannot be used?

A sample can occasionally be clotted, insufficient, contaminated, lost, or otherwise unsuitable. DarDoc’s published terms state that when a sample is compromised because of an error attributable to DarDoc or the laboratory partner, re-collection and re-processing will be arranged without an additional charge.

Why recollection may be the right decision

Repeating a sample can be inconvenient, but it is safer than reporting a result from material that does not meet quality requirements.
